FORRESTER, Charles McCallum (Chuck) - passed away peacefully on July 25, 2004 after a short battle with cancer. He is survived by his beloved wife, Alice; his children, Sandy (Sez), Lynn (Rick), and Barry (Shelley); his stepchildren, Judy (Wayne), David (Jamie), Rob (Stacy), Cindy (Myles), and Allen. He is also survived by his brothers, Tom, Bill, and his sister, Agnes. He leaves behind 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Born December 24, 1925 in Nanaimo, B.C., he served in the Royal Canadian Navy for 20 years. He had a great love for the outdoors and his dog "Missy," "the best dog he ever had". He had resided with his wife, Alice in Cobble Hill for the past 28 years and was very involved with the local Legion. Chuck had a wonderful sense of humour, lived life to the fullest and was respected by all who knew him. He has left his family with wonderful memories and will live in their hearts forever. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the B.C. Cancer Society. A memorial service will be held at the First Memorial Chapel, at 375 Brae Road in Duncan, on Saturday, July 31 at 11:00 a.m. (Victoria Times Colonist 28 Jul 2004)

 

Charles' brother, Stoker Thomas H. Forrester, DSM, also served in the RCNVR during the Second World War.
