 HMCS YORK was initially commissioned as the Toronto Company RCNVR on 10 Apr 1923. At the outbreak of WW2 the unit moved to the Automotive Building at the Canadian national Exhibition grounds. During the war, HMCS YORK was the first experience of naval life form more than 14,000 members of the RCN.
