Alive and well in 2024 at the age of 96

 

Victor Flett grew up from his Cree descent from the Peguis First Nation in Manitoba. Of Aboriginal heritage, he was buoyed by a strong family pride in military service. He is a widower and is the last in a family line of six Aboriginal men over three generations to serve in the Canadian Forces.


His grandfather died in WWI (Vimy Ridge). His father also served during WWII as did his three older brothers, When Victor became of age,He joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1951, and after his training he served in The Korean War.July 1953.HMCS. Crusader arrived in Korea just days after the July 27 armistice, Mr. Flett took part in UN peacekeeping operations. After his retirement he worked as a Commissionaires.


Born in St. Peters Man in 1928, now at the age of 96. He is a decorated Veteran of 33yrs. services. KVA. (Korean veterans Assn. Member).
