Norman Newbold

Born: 24 Jun 1932, Edmonton, Alberta

 

Died: 14 Feb 2024

 

NEWBOLD, Norman - passed away peacefully the morning of February 14, 2024. Norm was born in Edmonton on June 24th, 1932, where he grew up on a farm. He also lived in Millet, A.B., before moving to B.C. in 1946.

 

Norm joined the Navy on the 20th of November, 1951 and served on many ships until January 31st, 1975.

 

He then worked for Brentwood College for ten years, then went to Kerry Park for eighteen years.

 

He joined the Malahat Legion in1974 and went through all the chairs except Secretary. Norm went up to Zone and was Zone Sport's Chairman, Deputy Zone Commander and then Zone Commander.

 

Norm was pre-deceased by his wife Florence, whom he was married to for forty-seven years, his sisters Olive and Rita and his son Douglas.

 

Norm is survived by his son Michael and was thankful for the friendships at Sherwood House Independent Living where he lived his later years. He was a helpful encourager who is missed by residents and staff alike.
