In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
BLAGDON, Lloyd - age 81 of Halifax, Nova Scotia passed away September 15, 2026 at the Halifax Infirmary with his loving family by his side.
Born in Harbour Breton, Fortune Bay Newfoundland. He was the son of Betram and Leah Blagdon.
After leaving his home at the age of 16 to join the Royal Canadian Navy, he quickly rose to the rank of CPO1. He spent most of his 33 years as a submariner. After his retirement he enjoyed boating, diving, hunting and fishing, whenever he could. He was known among his friends at Armdale Yacht Club to travel far and wide, winning the "Chrysler Marine Trophy; and always lending a helping hand. He was a lifelong Mason and particularly proud of being Masonic Grand Master in 1999-2000. He was an avid Shriner and distinguished Toast Master. He was very involved in the AA program, province wide. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his step grandchildren Robyn and Danielle who had a loving impact that brought much laughter and comfort to him.
Survived by his wife Anna Burke, daughter Dorothy Godwin (Charlton) of North Carolina, son Lloyd (Brenda Lee) of Halifax, as well as grandchildren; Aidan, Hailey, Morgan, Patrick, and great grandchildren. Lloyd is also survived by his sister Marie, brother Tom, and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents Bertram and Leah, sister Jane, and son Patrick. Preceded in death by his former wives Ada and Susan.
Visitation will be held on Friday September 25, 2-4 and 6-8 at JA Snow Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held Saturday September 26, at 2pm.
