Citation for award of DSC:

 

GOLBY, James Wake, Sub-Lieutenant, Distinguished Service Cross (DSC), RCNVR, at Dunkirk - Awarded as per London Gazette of 26 July 1940.

 

"For good services in successful operations which prevented war material from falling into the hands of the enemy."

 


 

James Golby's brother, LCdr Thomas M.W. Golby, RCNR, lost his life during the Second World War, when the ship he was commanding, HMCS WEYBURN was sunk on 22 Feb 1943.
