William Theodore (Bill) Anderson

 

Petty Officer 1st Class, RCN

 

Born: 11 Oct 1928, Glace Bay, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia

 

Died: 20 Nov 1923

 

ANDERSON, William Theodore - age 95 years passed away peacefully at home on November 20, 2023. Born in Glace Bay he was a son of the late Malcolm and Elizabeth (Neil) Anderson. Bill was a proud 25 year veteran of the Royal Canadian Navy. He loved the navy and relived it daily. During his naval career he served on numerous ships including HMCS Sioux, Nootka, Quebec, Magnificent, St. Croix, Terra Nova, Nipigon and Ontario. While a member of the crew of HMCS Nootka he served 2 tours of duty during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Chiefs and Petty Officers Association and a member of the Korean Veterans Association. After retiring he drove a taxi. He is survived by his loving wife Carol, daughter Shelly (Shawn) Billard of Brookside, son Colin (Desta), Cortes Island, B.C., grandchildren, Katie (Farhan), Kellie (Bradley), Seren and Bruin and great grandson Greyson. Besides his parents he was predeceased by brothers James and Malcolm. Cremation will take place a private ceremony will be held.
