Gilbert Blair Neilson McLean

Born: 1945          Died: 2023

 

McLEAN, Gilbert Blair Neilson - Gib died peacefully surrounded by his beloved family. He leaves behind Jane, his loving wife of 48 years, their children Neilson (Karen), Susan (Robb), Heather, Scott (Mandy) and their grandchildren Blake, Devan Jane, Olive, Nina, Harrison, Dean, Juliet, Iris and Isaia as well as his granddogs. He is survived by his sister Susanne (Robert) and brother Doug (Ann). His family was the centre of his life.

 

Gib dedicated his professional life to the service of others during his 40 years as a General Practitioner and proudly served as a Medical Officer in the Naval Reserve for 25 years. He was devoted to his many patients and their families throughout his career.

 

Gib was a memorable storyteller who naturally connected with people. He will be fondly remembered for his love of wooden sail boats and classic cars.

 

Gib had a positive outlook for his entire life, right until the very end. He was adored by his family and friends and will be missed terribly.

 

A family celebration will be held at a later date.
