Born: 24 Jul 1918          Died: 11 May 2006

 

GROSSMAN, Henry - grew up on a farm and owned property in North Saanich, BC. Joined the navy on October 3, 1938, left Vancouver aboard last ship passing through Panama Canal before USA declared war. Served with the British Navy in the Mediterranean, Murmansk and the Atlantic. Met his wife Helen in ships pay office in Stadicona, Halifax, figured I married him for his back pay!! We both grew up in Edmonton, served in the Navy til he was discharged in 1963 after 25 years of service. Married to Helen for 59 years. Three children Eric (Karen), Fern (Bruce), Lynn (Alfred); grandchildren Wendy, Andrew, Mark, Paul, Kurt and Judd. Family get-together sometime in the summer.
