MacARTHUR, Archie - Passed away peacefully on 26th day of October, 2017 at Norview Lodge, just 5 days before his 90th birthday. Predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Ora (Sept. 7, 2011). Predeceased by four sisters and 2 brothers. Loving Father of Barry MacArthur and Colleen Coons (Douglas). Grandfather to Laird MacArthur and Averil Claroni (Greg) and Keegan Coons and Callum Coons. Great-Grandfather to Lily Anne Mae Claroni and Mason Claroni. Archie was born and raised in Barrie, Ontario. He served in the Royal Canadian Navy as Chief Warrant Officer, 1st Class, C.D. (Electrical Engineering Branch) from 1946 - 1971, Halifax, N.S., and at the Ontario Generating Station, Nanticoke from 1971-1988. Archie was known as a problem-solver and could fix anything except a broken heart and the break of day. In keeping with Archie's wishes cremation has taken place and a private family committal of ashes will be held at Oakwood Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Archie's memory to the "Norview Lodge Work of Heart", in person at Norview Lodge, Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm or by mail at 44 Rob Blake Way, Simcoe, Ontario, N3Y 0E3.
