In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
HANSEN, Frank Alver - age 86, of Middle Sackville, passed away on August 10, 2013, in Camp Hill Veterans' Memorial Building, QEII. Born in Montreal, Que., he was a son of the late Otnar and Cecelia (Donnelly) Hansen. Frank served in the Royal Canadian Navy from December 1945 to December 1965, including two terms in Korea onboard HMCS HAIDA. After retirement from the Navy, he worked for 18 years at the Chiefs and PO's Mess at Windsor Park until retiring in 1992. He was a lifetime member of the Chief 's and PO's Association. Frank is survived by his wife of 50 years, Margaret (Cook); sons, John (Deborah) Benn, Middle Sackville; Kevin Hansen, Perotte; sister, Rita Fisher, British Columbia; brother, James (Pat), Ontario; grandchildren, Andrew, Scott (Amanda), Holly (Clinton) Fallon; great-grandchildren, Madison, Myles, Tiana, Haley, Adrian; many nieces and nephews. Frank was predeceased by brothers, Francis, Gerald, Peter, Thomas, Leo and Leonard; sisters, Kathleen Hanson and Martha Raymond. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 15th, at 2 p.m., in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr. Interment at sea to take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
