DEKERGOMMEAUX, Denis (Deker) - passed away January 4th at Saan Pen Hospital. He was born in Vancouver in 1934, raised in Terrace and joined the navy in 1952 retiring in 1983. He loved the navy and made many friends throughout his career. Denis loved salmon fishing at Beecher Bay and trout fishing in the Chilcotin area. Denis and Heather travelled extensively in Europe and spent the last 20 years wintering in Ajijic, Mexico. Denis was a loving husband, devoted father and proud grandfather. He is survived by his wife Heather of 64 years, sons Kerry (Donna), Jeff (Karen), daughter Dawn (Steve) and six grandchildren that he adored.  (Victoria Times Colonist 13 Jan 2021)

 

Deker joined the RCN 30 Apr 1952.
