In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
Mike joined the Naval Reserves at HMCS Scotian as a boatswain in1968 while in high school. During his time in the reserves, he served in HMC ships Porte St. Jean, Skeena, and Columbia. Mike left the RCNVR when he was accepted into the RCMP in 1972. He served 40 years as a Mountie in Newfoundland and Labrador and retired as a sergeant in 2012. Mike died at home on 26 July 2021 at the age of 69.
Mike's father, Lionel (Leo) Ouellette served in the RCN and Mike's brother Jim Ouellette served in the C.A.F. Naval Reserves and Reg Force Navy.
