They made the Ultimate Sacrifice
GLASGOW, Charles Edmund, AB QR II, V5909, RCNVR, MPK - 13 Sep 1942, HMCS OTTAWA - Son of William and Lucy Glasgow, of Verdun, Quebec.
AB Glasgow died when HMCS OTTAWA H60 was torpedoed and sunk by U-91 on 13 Sep 1942. Of her crew of 175, plus 50 survivors they had picked up, there were only 69 survivors.
Charles Glasgow's brother, William Glasgow, RCNVR, died 14 Oct 1942 in the sinking of the SS CARIBOU. Charles' brother Joseph Glasgow also served in the RCNVR during the Second World War.
