DEARDEN, Arthur Neil, OS, V8376, RCNVR, MPK - 14 Mar 1941, SS WESTERN CHIEF - Son of Frank M. and Alice Dearden, of Hamilton, Ontario.

 

OS Dearden died when his ship, SS WESTERN CHIEF, was torpedoed and sunk on 14 Mar 1941 by the Italian sub Emo approx 250 nm south of Iceland.  Prior to joining the Navy he worked as a Telegraph Delivery Boy.
