BONE, Norman Elmer - With family at his side, Norm set sail on his final voyage to join his beloved wife Lois, who predeceased him in 2021, following 64 years of marriage. Norm was born in Fort Francis, ON, and raised in Atikokan, ON, by the late Wesley and Annette (LeFebvre) Bone. Norm's career with the Royal Canadian Navy began in 1954 at Fort William, ON. In 1956 he met and married Lois in Victoria, BC where they raised 4 daughters. After proudly serving his country for 35 years as a member of the RCN he retired in 1989 at CFB Esquimalt, BC. Shortly thereafter he and Lois settled in the Okanagan where he traded his ship for a motorhome, and continued travels as a Snowbird to Southern California. During the summers, Norm and Lois created many fond memories with their grandchildren in Kaleden, BC, and traveled throughout Canada to visit family and friends. He is survived by his cherished daughters Cynthia (Michael), Elaine (Ken), Laurie (Marischal), and Colleen (Peter) He was a blessed Poppy/Poppa to his eleven grandchildren, Krystyna, Alyssa (Tim), Gillian (Mick), Nadine (Jeremy), Kaeley (Travis), Brooke (Sandy), Alexis, Spencer (Ray), Max (Elysse), Drake (Emily), and Lise (Jack), plus six great grandsons, Eli, Ethan, Maddox, Jack, Luke and Fife. Norm will be sadly missed by his brother Melvin (Rose) and sister Brenda, and many nieces and nephews. Norm was predeceased by his sister Deanna and brother Vernon. Norm will be remembered for his good-natured kindness, loyalty, warm smile, and easy laughter. Family was his greatest joy. He truly will be missed. A celebration of life will be held in Kelowna, BC at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Charity of Your Choice. (The Okanagan Valley Newspaper Group 11 May 2024)
