WOOD, John Alfred, AB, V34862, RCNVR, killed - 29 Apr 1944 - Son of Daniel Edward and Etta May Wood; husband of Edna Florence Wood, of Hampstead, Queen's Co., New Brunswick.

 

AB Wood died when his ship, HMCS ATHABASKAN, was torpedoed and sunk in the English Channel on 19 Apr 1944. His body was recovered and he was buried in the Pornic War Cemetery, Loire-Atlantique, France.
