STOCKMAN, Ernest Oswald, Lt (E), O-70390, RCNVR, MPK - 29 Apr 1944, HMCS ATHABASKAN - Son of Samuel Stockman, and of Daisy Stockman, Newcastle-on-Tyne, England; husband of Margaret S. Stockman, Toronto, Ontario.

 

Lt Stockman died when his ship, HMCS ATHABASKAN, was torpedoed and sunk in the English Channel on 29 Apr 1944.  The province of Ontario honoured Lieutenant Stockman by naming Stockman Lake in his honour.
