In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
DAWS-KNOWLES, Christopher Harding Vere - Passed quietly on Friday, January 6, 2023 in Country Manor Hospice, La Mesa, Calif., USA. Born in Montreal, Que., on December 31, 1942. He served in the RCN, joining at HMCS Donnacona in Montreal; graduating from HMCS Cornwallis, and served in HMCS Shearwater (VS 880) and HMCS Bonaventure. After 10 years he left the RCN and joined the USN serving on USS Ranger (Operation Desert Storm) and USS Forrestal; Retiring as a Petty Officer First Class – Aero Engine Technician. He is survived by his sister, LCDR Sherry Richardson, RCN (Ret’d) in Halifax; and brother, CPO2 Stuart (Joe) Daws-Knowles, RCN (Ret’d) in Ottawa. Chris was predeceased by his parents, Stanley and Yvonne (Stuart) Daws-Knowles; and his wife, Rosa. He has donated his body to Medical Science. There will be no visitation or service.
