ZABRICK, Demetro (Mike) - It is with great sorrow our family announces our Dad's peaceful passing at Royal Jubilee Hospital. He leaves behind daughters Gale Owens, Patricia Good, eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren & nine great, great grandchildren. He also leaves behind daughter in law Judy (Rick) Griffin Howard, his sister Jean & brother Jim. Born in Andrew Alberta, he was proud of his Ukrainian heritage. He joined the Canadian Navy & served 25 years then he worked for Canada Post until retirement. He met our mother in Victoria & spent 60 years together until her passing. He was an avid ball player in his younger years & then took up curling, representing B.C. Across the country in many bonspiels with Mom behind the glass coaching & cheering him on. He was a proud Legion member & was honoured to serve as Sergeant of Arms several times. We would like to thank the Doctors & Nurses at the Jubilee for all they did for Dad. Cremation has taken place & there will be a Celebration of Life when it is safe to travel. Dear Dad you will be greatly missed! (Victoria Times Colonist 18 May 2021)
