WAITSON, Maurice, AB, V18646, RCNVR, MPK - 29 Apr 1944, HMCS ATHABASKAN - Son of Stephen and Alma Waitson, of Napanee, ON.

 

AB Waitson died when his ship, HMCS ATHABASKAN, was torpedoed and sunk in the English Channel on 29 Apr 1944.  The province of Ontario honoured Able Seaman Waitson by naming Waitson Lake in his honour.
