NEWMAN, Clifford Jerome, ERA 5c, V27849, RCNVR, MPK - 07 May 1944, HMCS VALLEYFIELD - Son of Fred J. and Marguerite E. Newman, of Toronto, Ontario; husband of Edna Olive Grace Newman, of Toronto.. He was born in Toronto he attended Decatur College, Decatur, Ill., USA.

 

Engine Room Artificer Newman died when his ship, HMCS VALLEYFIELD, was torpedoed and sunk on 07 May 1944 by U-548. Of her crew of 163, there were only 38 survivors.
