Died: 12 Aug 1976, Grand Forks, ND, USA

 

TRICKETT, Roy D. - Suddenly, in Grand Forks, North Dakota, on Thursday, August 12, 1976, Roy D. Trickett, of 179 Ashdale Avenue, Winnipeg. Roy was born in Eden, Man. on July 23, 1921 and was raised and educated in Kelwood. He joined the firm or Fairbanks-Morse, now C.A.E. Morse in 1938 and at the time of his death was the Manager of the Winnipeg office. Roy served in the Royal Canadian Navy during World War Two and in 1943 married Jeanne Langlois in Victoria, BC. Besides his wife Jeanne, he is survived by his family, son Lonny and daughter-in-law Jill, son Rod, all of Winnipeg, daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Bill Sparling of Burlington, Ont., granddaughters, Dani Trickett and Robin Sparling, his father, Bill Trickett and Sister Jessie of Victoria, BC. He was predeceased by his mother Agnes and brother Sam. He will also be sadly missed by Ted Langlois and family, Victoria and Frances Bodnar and family of Prince George. A memorial service will be held at 3.00 p.m., Tuesday, August 17th at Mordue Bros. Funeral Home, Broadway and Edmonton. Roy will always be remembered by all who knew and loved him as a kind and generous man.

 

Roy's brother William D. Trickett also served during the Second World War and survived the sinking of HMCS ATHABASKAN G07
