RANKIN, William Kerr - Passed away peacefully at his Mabel Lake (Enderby, B.C.) residence on Wednesday, January 23, 2002 at the age of 77 years, a resident of the area since 1991. He was born in Montreal, Quebec on January 3rd, 1925 and was raised in Ontario. He was a longtime resident of Calgary and Edmonton, Alberta before moving to Mabel Lake. Mr. Rankin served overseas with the Royal Canadian Navy and his interest in boats continued. He sailed and donated his own sailboat to the Sea Cubs for training and it is still in use today. His career was computer analyst with the Shell Oil Geophysics Department. Bill was strong willed, independent, intellectually developed, fair minded and generous. While in Mabel Lake area, he enjoyed everything nature had to offer. He will be sadly missed by his loving family, daughter Carol Anne Rogers and granddaughter Amy of England; brother John (Beverly) of Oakville, Ontario and children Adrienne, Carl, Stephen and Kerri; niece Dr. Susan Cumings-Ledbetter; special friend Reta of Mabel Lake; extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his sister Joyce Anne (Steve) Cumings. A tea was held at the Seniors Complex at Enderby, B.C. on Sunday, January 27, 2002. Cremation.
