In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
HODGKIN, William Barry - What a wonderful life. Barry passed away peacefully and comfortably on May 3, following a brief and steep decline in his cognitive and physical health. In the 18 months since the passing of his beloved Hazel, his daughter Krista lovingly cared for him, ensuring he was surrounded by the familiar comforts of his home & yard. A lifelong man of the sea, Barry spent the majority of his 84 years close to the water-through his career in the Navy and, later, in the sailing adventures with Hazel & friends around the west coast. Barry deeply loved his family, near and far, and his two daughters Tracey & Krista will miss his warm smile & hugs. Our heartfelt thanks to family, friends and VIHA health care team who supported Barry during the past 18 months & to the exceptional palliative care staff at Saanich Peninsula Hospital for their compassion and care. A service to celebrate Barry's life will be held at First Memorial, Falaise Dr Royal Oak on June 11, 2025 at 2 p.m. (The Victoria Times Colonist 16 May 2025)
