KIRKWOOD, Francis Lussier, Flying Officer, RCAF, MPK - 12 Oct 1943 at sea - Son of Thomas Robert and Elinor Kirkwood, of Montreal, Quebec. Husband of Betty Nance Kirkwood, of Montreal.

 

Flying Officer Kirkwood died when his plane crashed into the ocean during flying operations near Eyemouth, Berwickshire, Scotland.

 

Francis' brother, OS Thomas Kirkwood, RCNVR, lost his life in the sinking of HMCS MARGAREE on 22 Oct 1940.
