BRINSON, Fred John David, Sto 2c, V32938, RCNVR, MPK - 18 Dec 1942, HMS PARTRIDGE - Son of Fred John and Elizabeth Brinson, of Livelong, Saskatchewan.
Stoker Brinson died when his ship, HMS PARTRIDGE, was torpedoed and sunk by the German submarine U-565 when on anti-submarine patrol 50 miles west of Oran. Of her crew there were 173 survivors and 37 killed.
Fred was the son of Fred John and Elizabeth Brinson who came from Resolven, West Glamorgan, Wales to a farm in the Patchgrove district in 1929. Fred Jr. was operating a rink at North Battleford, Saskatchewan when he enlisted on April 04, 1942 at Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
