LEE, Frank Edward AB AA III, V57850, RCNVR MPK - 07 May 1944, HMCS VALLEYFIELD - Son of Henry and Emma Eliza Lee of Dickens, Manitoba. Brother of Aircraftman 1st Class Frederick John Lee, who died while serving with the Royal Canadian Air Force.

 

Able Seaman Lee died when his ship, HMCS VALLEYFIELD, was torpedoed and sunk on 07 May 1944 by U-548. Of her crew of 163, there were only 38 survivors.  East Lee Lake, north east of Wanipigow Lake, Manitoba, was named after him in 1986.
