In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
CARLYLE, Robert W. - Dad left us for smoother waters and softer winds. After graduating from Western, he joined the Navy as an Officer. Twenty-five years later he went back to UVic to earn his B.Ed. and became an elementary school teacher. Dad's happiest moment was when he married RCN Sister Mary McGuire, and after producing four sons, lived happy together over 60 years. After retiring, Dad had three main passions: traveling; his beautiful cottage on Lake Cowichan; and, building museum quality sailing ship models. We know Dad will be happy while he looks down on us, but for a multitude of reasons, we sure will miss him. Mike, Alan (deceased 2024), David and Robin. (The Victoria Times Colonist 25 Jan 2025)
