Donald Fraser (Don) Hood

Born: 23 Apr 1931

 

Died: 21 Feb 2021, Summerside, Prince Edward Island

 

HOOD, Donald Fraser - It is sad to report that Retired Submariner CPO2 Don Hood passed away in Summerside, PEI on 21 Feb 2021. At Don's request there will be no Obituary. Don served in the RCN for 21 years and served in Submarines HMS Grampus & HMS Oracle. He then Commissioned HMCS Okanagan on 22 June 1968. After retirement Don worked for Irving Oil at Canaport in Saint John, New Brunswick for a number of years. This is where the large Crude Oil Tanks are located in Saint John and where they pump the oil from the tankers. He was a member of SAOC(E) until 2016 when he moved to PEI in 2017. He will be buried in St. Paulís Catholic Cemetery in Summerside, PEI at a later date.
