In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
ISLES, Kenneth Maxwell - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kenneth M. Isles at the age of 90, on April 16, 2020 in Dartmouth General Hospital. Ken proudly served in the Royal Canadian Navy for 29 years and was a veteran of the Korean War. He retired as a Lieutenant Commander, Marine Engineer. Post-retirement he was an active member of the Naval Reserves and HMCS Scotian. Ken was born in Bear River to the late Arthur and Mary (Claes) Isles. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 70 years, Barbara (Jakeman) Isles. He is also survived by his children, Jim (Bernadette), Joyce (Jeff), Maureen, Harold, Terry (Gail); as well as 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Edna Morgan and Nancy Ellwood; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Ken was predeceased by brothers, Arthur, Clarence, Harold, Boyd, Robert, Gerald, Fred; and sisters Margaret and Myrtle. Ken's final resting place will be in the columbarium in Christ Church in Dartmouth, the same church where he and Barbara were married June 2, 1950. Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The family would like to express appreciation to the staff of Dartmouth General Hospital for the care and compassion they provided to Ken and the family during this difficult time.
