SLt Hunter survived the crash of an Avenger aircraft near Shearwater, NS on 25 Jan 1954. AB.NA Zruna also survived. The pilot, who was a RN officer, died in the crash.
After his service in the navy he worked in the Canadian Coast Guard as an Administration Officer. (The Nauticapedia)
