Died: 20 May 1992, Nova Scotia

 

SWANSBURG, Robert Harple (Bob)  - The family of today take this occasion May 7th to remember the 100th Anniversary of Bob's birth in Halifax, Nova Scotia to parents Robert and Maude. Lovingly remembered by Helen his wife of 47 years; his children, Stephen, Linda (Sandy, d-2016), James and Jennifer (David); sister Rita, grandchildren Cynthia (Scott) and Ian (Cynthia); great-grandchildren (whom he never got to know and enjoy) Leah, Kaylee, Josh and Abby, in laws William and Donna, Robert and Linda and all nieces, nephews, second cousins and long lasting family friends who would today remember Bob, the Morley's, Carmichael's, Cunningham's, MacKay's, Larder's, Kennedys, O'Brien's, MacGregor's, Slack's, and special mention of Pauline Martin and Family in British Columbia. His service to Canada as a Meteorologist part of which was as a Naval Officer in the 1950's, the most memorable being the UN Peace Keeping Mission to Egypt on HMCS Magnificent and the commissioning of HMCS Bonaventure. Through his career he served in a civilian capacity at various military establishments; Sydney during WWII, Shearwater, Halifax and retiring in 1978 at Greenwood NS. Dad and Mom built their retirement home in Melvern Square, Annapolis County where today he rests in Church Grove Cemetery. "Time passes us all and to remember and be remembered can be humbling, take a moment to embrace those here today and remember those who have gone on.
