BAUER, John Robert Delano - John Robert Delano Bauer passed away peacefully at Aberdeen Hospital in Victoria on October 3, 2026. John (Del) was born in Winnipeg to John J and Frances P Bauer (nee Hay). He is greatly missed by daughter Carolyn Young (Jamie), sons John Bauer of Nanaimo and Jamie Bauer, granddaughter Ashley Young, grandson John Bauer of Nanaimo, and his wife of many years, Edwina. John is also survived by sister Doreen Bauer and family in Winnipeg. Predeceased by sister Bonnie. John served three years in the Canadian Navy, 1961 to 1964, as a radio operator and went on to a career as an Air Traffic Controller in Winnipeg and Vancouver. He loved his home and garden in Ardmore, curling at Glen Meadows and playing bridge with his Monday morning and Thursday afternoon friends. (The Victoria, Times Colonist 17 Oct 2026)
