They made the Ultimate Sacrifice
Mascot Lucky was lost overboard while HMCS WINNIPEG transiting Lake Erie. His body was recovered on a beach and he was buried near Colchester, Ontario, Canada. Lucky was HMCS WINNIPEG'S only casualty during the Second World War.
