James R. Hoey

 

Leading Seaman, RCNVR

 

Born: 1920          Died: 1995

 

James' sister, Helen Gwendolyn (née Hoey) MacManus, served in the war as a Telegraphist in the WRCNS. She was on watch at the time and received the GUYSBOROUGH'S SOS call.  James' uncle, AB Hartley Lamont Mawhinney also served in the Navy during the war.

 

James is buried in the Christ Church Anglican Cemetery Bloomfield, Kings Co., New Brunswick.
