BOUVIER, Theodore Joseph, Sig, V31063, RCNVR, MPK - 07 May 1944, HMCS VALLEYFIELD - Son of Arthur and Anastasie Bouvier, of Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan.

 

Signalman Theodore Joseph (Ted) Bouvier was the son of Arthur and Anastasie (Tetrault) Bouvier who came from North Dakota in 1919 and Arthur worked as a butcher. Ted worked as a printer before enlisting and was active in the Boy Scout movement. His brother Lionel and sister Valida also served in the R.C.A.F., they were first cousins of M. A. Bouvier.

 

Signalman Bouvier died when his ship, HMCS VALLEYFIELD, was torpedoed and sunk on 07 May 1944 by U-548. Of her crew of 163, there were only 38 survivors.
