Gerald Arthur (Jerry) O'Malley

Born: 11 Dec 1947, Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island

 

Died: 21 Mar 2013

 

O'MALLEY, Gerald Arthur (Jerry) - 65 of Dartmouth, passed away on Thursday March 21, 2013. Born in Charlottetown, PEI, Jerry spent the majority of his early years in Bloomfield Station. He was a son of the late Arthur Henry and Mary Inez (McQuaid) O’Malley.

 

He was the proud father of Marie Chartrand (Bobby Cammack), Scotch Lake, NB and Christopher “Kipper” (O’Malley) Doucette (Jennifer), Keswick Ridge, NB. Special grampie to Caitlin and Lauren Chartrand, Abigail Cammack, Cameron and Darren Doucette. Jerry is also survived by his brother, Arthur, of Charlottetown; sisters-in-law, Nancy O’Malley and Wanda Ross; several nieces and nephews; and by Elaine (Milligan) Yerxa and Andre Chartrand. He was predeceased by his brothers, John, Walter and James.

 

Jerry was a member of the Royal Canadian Navy for 25 years and more recently of the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires for another 16 years, retiring in 2012 due to failing health.

 

Cremation has taken place. As per Jerry’s request there will be no service. A visitation will be held on Tuesday March 26, 2013 from 5-8pm in A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland Street, Dartmouth. Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the QE II Foundation.
