TOOLE, James Carey (Spud) - Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on May 29, 2023, at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He was born on September 10, 1958, in Toronto and throughout his life, he touched the hearts of many.

 

James is survived by his devoted wife of over 43 years, Julie Toole (nee Wilson). Together, they built a strong and loving partnership that stood the test of time. James was a loving and proud father to his sons, Jason Troy Toole (Amber Scotton) and Douglas Cary Toole (Jennifer Pore). He found immense joy in his role as a grandfather to Zara and Calliope, and he eagerly awaited the arrival of a grandson Gabriel due this summer.

 

In addition to his immediate family, James leaves behind his siblings, Michael Toole, Karen Graham (Steve), and David Toole. He is also remembered by cherished family friends Laura and Brian Galloway and Jon Carpenter, and so many friends and colleagues across the country.

 

James will also be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews, Bryan, Erin, Scott, Sara, Kelly-Ann, Tim, Chase, Calista, Matthew, Connor, Riley, Nicole, Stacey, and many grandnieces and grandnephews.

 

James had a distinguished career as a submariner in the Canadian military, demonstrating bravery and commitment to his country. He served with honor and made lasting contributions during his time of service. In his leisure time, James was an avid darts player, finding great enjoyment in the camaraderie and competition of the game.

 

James Cary Toole will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His warm smile, humour, and mischievous nature will be deeply missed. May he live on in the memories of the countless friends and family he touched throughout his life

 

Visitation - Friday, Jun 2 - 2-4pm and 7-9pm. St Joseph's Catholic Church, 135 Livingston Ave, Grimsby, Ontario Funeral Mass Jun 3 - 3 pm. St Joseph's Catholic Church, Grimsby, Ontario.
