Died: 23 Apr 2023, Ottawa, Ontario

 

SCHATZ, Ferderick - Passed away at his home in Ottawa, on Sunday, April 23, 2023, at the age of 78. Beloved father of Robert, David, and Amanda. Cherished grandfather of Timothy, Malcolm, and Charlotte. Loving brother of Kathy (Glenn), and Ann (Dave), predeceased by his brother John. Son of the late Johann Schatz and late Annie Schatz (nee Liske). Fred is fondly remembered by Maxine Schatz and his son-in-law Steve.

 

Family and friends are invited to Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services (280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa), for a visitation on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, from 12 noon until the time of the Memorial Service in Beechwood’s Sacred Space at 1 p.m. Interment to take place in the National Military Cemetery located at Beechwood Cemetery. For those who wish to donate in Fred’s memory, you may do so towards a charity that is close to your heart. (Beechwood Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services)

 


 

Fred was a submariner and served in Submarines from 1969 to 1991. He was on Oberon Submarine Course #13 in Jan - Feb 1969. He was a Sonarman. He served in all three Oberon's and also served in the UK in HMS Dolphin
