LESTER, Harold Robert, O/Tel, 3677, RCN, MPK - 01 May 1941, S.S. NERISSA (Troopship) - Son of Robert W. and Amelia L. Lester, of Laura, Saskatchewan.

 

Ordinary Telegraphist Harold Robert Lester was one of the casualties in the sinking of S.S. NERISSA. He was the son of Robert W. and Amelia L. Lester who homesteaded east of Evesham, Saskatchewan, later moving to a farm at Laura. Harold was born at Southey, Saskatchewan and was a student when he enlisted on May 06, 1940 at Esquimalt, British Columbia almost a year to the day before his death.
