In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
KENNY, Elliot Arthur - was born on August 7, 1948 in Chatham (now Miramichi City) N.B., son of the late Arthur and Sophia (Josefowich) Kenny. He began his military service while still in high school as a Reserve soldier with the North Shore Regiment. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy on Aug 18 1967. He served in HMCS RESTIGOUCHE followed by HMCS TERRA NOVA. He was part of the crew of TERRA NOVA when it was transferred from the Atlantic to the Pacific fleet. Following his honourable release (end of contract) on August 17, 1972, he began a career as a long-haul truck driver, amassing 4.3 million accident-free miles over some 47 years of driving. During this time he also served as a Reservist with the Toronto Scottish Regiment.
Elliot is survived by his wife Janis, daughter Amanda Weston, step-daughter Tara McGory, son Jeffery Kenny, step-son Craig Hatch, sister Pamela Kenna, brother Thomas and Dan, and two grandchildren Theodore and Archer. He is predeceased by both parents and his sister Glendine.
