BROWN, Douglas McKenzie - was the a son of Brenton Samuel and Mary A. (née MacLachlan) Brown. He married Freda Elizabeth (Betsy) Spohn on 29 May 1938 at St. John's Anglican Church in Vancouver, BC. They had one son and two daughters. Doug was survived by his second wife, Joan and four  children.

HMCS KINGS - Appointed to KINGS 04 Jan 1942 as a SLt, RCNVR (seniority 18 Aug 1941) (Navy List Jan 1942).  Appointed Lt, RCNVR (seniority 18 Aug 1942) (Navy List Sep 1942)

HMCS SAGUENAY - Lt Brown was serving in SAGUENAY when she was rammed by S.S. AZRA on 15 Nov 1942

HMCS ATHABASKAN - Appointed to ATHABASKAN 03 Feb 1943 as a Lt, RCNVR (Navy List Aug 1943).  Seniority backdated to 18 Feb 1941 (Navy List Feb 1944)  Note: Lt Brown was transferred off HMCS ATHABASKAN (by his own request) 1 month before she was sunk
