PARFITT, Edward Seeley - It is with a heavy heart, that the family of Edward Seeley Parfitt announce the passing of our dad on Tuesday Feb 16th 2021, at the Halifax Infirmary. Born in St. John NB, the son of Leslie Harold Parfitt and Madelene Dora Seeley. He was 91 years old. He joined the Navy in 1947 and retired in 1973. He served in the Naval Air Group, doing duty on Aircraft Carriers MAGNIFICENT and BONAVENTURE. He was primarily stationed at CFB Shearwater. He was a member of C.N.A.G. He finished his working career with Halifax County as an Inspector. He loved having the family around the supper table or his back yard barbeque. The more family, the bigger the smile. He enjoyed travelling with mom, before they had children, and especially after he retired when the children were grownup. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing canoeing and gardening. He was a handyman, jack of all trades. Everything from home construction, auto mechanic, fiberglass canoes and the building of his backyard fish pond with a grapevine to make his own wine with his brother in-law Richard Jacob. He spent many an hour completing his newspaper, Crossword puzzles, Sudoku, and the daily cryptoquote. A man who was forced to leave high school in grade 11, to support his family, his love and thirst for knowledge, he always seemed to know something about anything. He was strong on honesty, sportsmanship and manners and respect. He was good neighbour, a devote Catholic who served the Sackville NS Diocese for many years. He volunteered in the Community. In the Progress Club of Lower Sackville he helped create a community band. Dad always believed in helping out, especially family and friends. He is survived by his 5 sons, Gerry (Vicki) Falmouth NS, Patrick (Lisa) Golden Grove NB, Allen, Red Deer Alberta, Stephen (Tanya) Lower Sackville NS and Brian, Red Deer Alberta. He had 2 brothers, David and Wayne. He had 9 grandchildren, James, Jennifer, Jeffrey, Megan, Sean, Shannyn, Melissa, Lindsay and Sara, and the 15 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Evelyn Theresa (Mullane) Parfitt, a son Paul, and his 3 sisters Mary, Eileen and Leslie. Loving Husband, Devoted Father and Great Friend...We Will Miss You, But Never Forget you. Rest in Peace Dad
