ROSTRUP, Gunnar Mauritz - At the Deer Park Villa, Grimsby on Monday, July 26, 2004 in his ninetieth year. Loving husband of the late Muriel Louise Rostrup (nee Bond), July 21, 2004. Much loved father of Ann Rostrup and her husband Colin Rous of Toronto, Jean Schofield and her husband Peter of Mississauga and Paul Rostrup and his wife Paula of Georgetown. Loving grandfather of Andrew (Kate), Steven, Karen, Scott, Mark and great-grandfather of Penny and Mae. Dear brother of Ruth Beckner and her husband Delbert of Victoria, B.C. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother Olav and sister Dorothy McDonald. In 1940, Gunnar graduated from the University of Alberta, B.Comm. Muriel and Gunnar were married April 18, 1942 in Halifax. He served in the Royal Canadian Navy during WWII, carrying out convoy duty in the North Atlantic aboard HMCS Prince Rupert. He retired from the Head Office of the Bank of Montreal in 1979 after more than forty years service. He will be fondly remembered by his family and friends. Cremation. A Service of Remembrance for Gunnar and Muriel will be held on Thursday, July 29, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. from Trinity United Church, 100 Main Street West, Grimsby.
