Note: The RCN Ledger Sheets list John Samuel's surname as Pettersson.  The Canadian Navy Lists have his surname at Petterson.

 

John joined the Royal Navy as a Boy Seaman on 08 Feb 1915 and served until discharged on compassionate grounds in 25 Mar 1923. He was rated OS on 21 Mar 1919 and AB on 25 Sep 1919. He was awarded a good conduct stripe on 21 Sep 1922.

 

John Pettersson was chosen as President of the Chief and Petty Officers' Association of Victoria for the 1960 Executive. (Crowsnest Magazine Dec 1959)
