LAING, Walter John Clarke - passed away June 15, 1998 in Port Moody, B.C. Beloved husband of Colleen (nee Jones) of Coquitlam, B.C. Loving father of son Kevin and daughter-in-law Lynn and proud pa to Dawn and Jason of Dartmouth, N.S. He was predeceased by his first wife Doris Kathleen (nee Sandwith) in 1980. Born April 18, 1921 in Hamilton, Walter joined the RCNVR in 1941. In civilian life he held senior appointments with NCR, Robin-Nodwell, SCM and Philips Electronics. A past president of the Naval Officers Association of B.C., he will be sadly missed but fondly remembered. (The Globe and Mail 20 Jun 1998)
