BROWN, Robert Patrick - Senior Executive Officer D.R.E.E., retired and Commanding Officer of HMCS KINCARDINE during World War II. In hospital on Friday, January 20, 1989, Robert Brown, aged 72 years. Beloved husband of Margery Mabee. Dear father of Barbara of Toronto; Michael (husband of Charlene), Fairbanks, Alaska; Geoffrey (husband of Darlene), Dartmouth, Nova Scotia; Richard (husband of Deborah), Boca Raton, Florida and Rosemary (wife of Dr. Michael Tucker), Carp. Dear brother of Helen Dubeau, Vivian Brennan, Winnie Walters, Paul, Betty Roney, Fred, Tom, Mae Brock, Lorne and Jean Foran. Predeceased by Lois Miller. Loving grandfather of 11 grandchildren. Friends may call at the McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 235 Ken Street, from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Funeral Mass Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church, Ottawa. Interment St. Malachy's Cemetery, Mayo, Quebec. In memoriam donations to the Canadian Cancer Society appreciated.

 

LCdr Robert Brown served in the RCNVR during the Second World War.  After the war he was transferred to the RCN(R). He was demobilized on 10 Jan 1946.

HMCS KINCARDINE - Appointed to Kincardine 09 Mar 1944 (while ship under construction) as a Lt, RCNVR. //  Re-Appointed to Kincardine 19 Jun 1944 as a Lt, RCNVR, Commanding Officer (Navy List Jul 1944).  Promoted and re-appointed to Kincardine as a LCdr, RCNVR, CO eff 01 Jul 1945 (service file of LCdr R.P. Brown)

HMCS DONNACONA - Served in Donnacona 20 Dec 1945 - 10 Jan 1946 as a LCdr, RCN(R) (service file of LCdr R.P. Brown)
