Died: 23 Nov 2018, Calgary, Alberta

 

PUMPLE, George Edward - of Calgary, AB, passed away on Friday, November 23, 2018 at Clifton Manor with his wife, Merle by his side. George was born in Ottawa, ON, on June 19, 1928. He served in the Canadian Armed Forces for twenty-five years. He was a pilot in the Royal Canadian Air Force, he also served in the Royal Canadian Navy. There will be no service at his request. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Calgary Zoo, c/o Aldera Chisholm, 1300 Zoo Road N.E., Calgary, AB T2E 7V6, Thank you to the wonderful staff of Clifton Manor for their care. In living memory of George Pumple, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McInnis & Halloway Funeral Homes, Calgary, AB.

 

Ships served in:

HMCS NEW GLASGOW - Served in New Glasgow in 1962 as Operations Officer

HMCS MALAHAT - Served in Malahat as Staff Officer (Air) and for VC-922 Squadron as Instructor and as Unit Instrument Check Pilot 1964

HMCS BONAVENTURE - Served in Bonaventure as Carrier Onboard Delivery Pilot in 1967
