EDGAR, Eric Gordon - of Waverley, passed away on June 7, 2014, in the VG Site, QEII, Halifax after a lengthy battle with cancer. Born in Brooke Township, Lambton Co., Ont., he was the youngest son of the late Robert H. and Winnie (Vannatter) Edgar. He served his country in the RCN for over 29 years. He was a P.M. of Virgin Lodge No. 3, GLNS. member of ACPOA, NOAC, RUSI, RCL. CNAG and the Shearwater Aviation Museum Foundation. He was an avid bridge player and an enthusiastic golfer. He is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth (Russell); daughter, Kristie (Barry Misener); son, Dan (Donalda); his beloved grandchildren, Jeffrey, Nicholas and Stephanie Misener-Gordon, Robert and John Edgar and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and stepmother, Gladys (Pierce); brothers, Richard, William, Robert Murray; sisters, Ruth and Marion. Cremation has taken place and his ashes will be scattered at sea. A Memorial Reception will take place in Shearwater Aviation Museum on Monday, June 16th, 2-4 p.m. Donations may be made to Shearwater Aviation Museum Foundation or a charity of your choice.
